False Christs
Signs of Mankind
Matthew 24:3-5 (KJV):

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

False Christs are people who claim to be the Messiah or the returned Jesus Christ.  False Christs can be very charismatic individuals who may have a vast knowledge of the Bible.  They may even accurately quote scripture on a regular basis.  Some of these individuals have or had a large following of "believers" who in some cases were/are willing to die for them.   However, it takes more than the ability to accurately quote scripture (Satan can do that!) and convince other people to follow you to pass the test of the TRUE MESSIAHNONE of these individuals meet or met the qualifications within the messianic prophecies of the Old Testament like Jesus of Nazareth did.

While you read about each of these false prophets, keep in mind the instruction of Jesus as to how one      can tell if a prophet is of God or not:

Matthew 7:15-20 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they       are ravening wolves.  16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of           thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
There have been many false Christs throughout history.
