Apocalypse Survivor
NEW
Please Note: If you have not visited in a while I want to apologize for our absence. I have been writing a book (more on that later) that has distracted me from updating this site regularly. Now that I have more time, I plan to update the Inspiration page regularly and have included archives so that you can look up past bits of inspiration. The newest page is about signs of the times relating to the rapture and second coming of Christ. Another recently updated page is about the Tribulation with Biblical references and explanations in everyday language about things you may have heard of: 7 Seals, 7 Trumpets, 7 bowls and the battle of Armageddon. Finally, after all the talk of woe and destruction, I have added a page to help lighten the mood and give some details on what Christians have to look forward to, called Blessings.
These pages are constantly being updated, so check back often for more information. If you have any suggestions or questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me. God bless, Hope

The word "apocalypse" has been used so frequently in our society, particularly by the media and in films like "Apocalypse Now", that is seems to represent a generalized "great war" or World War III. But, apocalypse is defined in both "Websters" and the "American Heritage" dictionaries as "a prophetic revelation" or "Revelation, the last book in the New Testament". The dictionary does not use the words "war" or "battle" at all. Make no mistake! The book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, does include a great battle, but much more!
Revelation is probably the second easiest book to locate in any Bible, next to Genesis. Revelation is the last book in the second half of the Bible called the New Testament. This book was written by the Apostle John while on the Island of Patmos some time between the years 90 and 96 A.D. While this is a very complicated book to read and often difficult to understand, it is important to note that Revelation is NOT the only book in the Bible containing prophecy about the end of time on earth as we know it! Other books written by other apostles and prophets include phrophecies (dreams or visions of future events) about the END TIMES, the RAPTURE, the CHURCH, the TRIBULATION the SECOND COMING or return of Jesus Christ to earth, the LAST JUDGMENT, and CHRIST'S MILLENIAL (1000 year) KINGDOM or reign on earth.
Revelation Chapter 6 describes what you have probably heard called the "four horsemen of the apocalypse". While the Bible refers to these riders on different colored horses, they are really judgments of God that will be poured out on the earth during the first half of the "end times" known as the TRIBULATION. If you think the contestants on the "Survivor" TV show and the "Eco Challenge" are tough...think about what it would take to survive things like: a global war so devastating that more people will die than the millions lost during WW II. The Bible tells us that a quarter of the earth's population will die!
