Forgiveness

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
God does not expect us to be perfect!  He could have made us perfect, but instead He decided to give us free will.  With that free will comes responsibility.  We are all going to make mistakes!  Graciously, God forgives us our sins.  All we need do is confess them to him (this can be done silently in private) and ask for His forgiveness!
"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and
I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted."  (Isaiah 43:25-26)
God not only forgives us, He FORGETS!  No human being can do that!  Those who love us will usually forgive us when we mess up, but as humans, it is almost impossible for us to forget when someone wrongs us.  This is not true of the Lord!

After we confess our transgressions, He fully acquits us and it is as if it never happened!  We will not be judged for sins that we have confessed and have been forgiven!
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus ..." (Romans 8:1)

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace." (Ephesians 1:7)
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

(Romans 8:2-4)

Jesus willingly died for us so that we might be forgiven.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (John 3:16)
