Look at the picture of our Lord above. He appears to be in deep thought. Our human minds can't begin to imagine what must have been in his mind. He knew why the Heavenly Father had sent him down to earth. He knew that he had to teach the world many lessons before he suffered and gave up his life on the cross to save us from our sins. He died in a most painful way, after carrying his extremely heavy cross, on a back that had been scourged, to pay the price for our sins. His death on the cross didn't just cover our sins, His death took them away! With His death and resurrection from the dead, we are promised that our sins are washed away, just like the blood from His body, which was on the ground below the cross, was washed away in the storm, so are our sins washed away...forever. When we accept Him as our personal Savior, ask Him into our hearts and to forgive us our sins, we are His for ever more. A divine gift which can never be taken from us.
Looking at the picture, we might wonder if He was contemplating why so many are in denial about His holy birth, the Salvation He came to offer. He must wonder why so many could disbelieve the inspired Word of God, given to us in the form of the Holy Bible. Why would so many be in denial about the coming Tribulation described so vividly in Revelations? Why would so many be in denial about the rapidly approaching rapture? Why would so many deny Him?
We are not able to know the minds of men, but God does. He knows there are several reasons people don't want to hear, or know anything about Him, Salvation, and especially the coming Rapture and Tribulation.
We believe the main reason people don't want to hear about Jesus and end-time prophecy is simply unbelief. Many have had no opportunity to learn about Jesus and understand the Bible or end-time prophecy. Sadly, many have been woefully exposed to misinformation and apostasy in the modern day church.
2 Peter 3: 3-4 tells us that just before the Second Coming, there will be scoffers who ask "Where is the promise of His coming?" The signs are everywhere! The scoffing going on in the world today is an example of end-time prophecy coming true!
Another major reason is unfounded fear!! People are often afraid of the idea of Christ's soon return. They sometimes forget that they were saved by the grace of God, and not by works. They fear being caught at the wrong moment, that the Lord will return and catch them doing something sinful. Fortunately, His love for us is so strong and forgiving that this is not the case. We need only to ask Him into our hearts, forgive us our sins, and we are His forevermore. Nothing can take that gift from us!
Many people don't want to hear that Christ will return again soon because, while they have one foot in the church, the other foot is in the world, having a sinfully good time! Many of them want Christ to return, but not until they are through doing everything they want to do and try on this earth! Unfortunately many cannot decide which they love more: the world or Jesus Christ! There are so many signs that the rapture is imminent, but sadly, you hear people saying "Oh, I have time to be a Christian later when I am through having fun, besides, the rapture won't happen in my lifetime." But, it is our belief that the rapture is so imminent that we should be looking up NOW, listening for the trumpet NOW. God always keeps his promises. He promised He would return to gather his church. Every promise God ever made, every prophecy ever made has come true, or is currently coming true. Why would God not keep his promise to come back and remove his church from the world, before the Great Tribulation? He is coming back and sooner than many think! He doesn't want any of us to be left behind. He knocks on the door of your heart every day...please open the door and let Him in! Don't be in denial any longer.
There are many people in the world who have never had the opportunity, or unfortunately, the desire to study end-time prophecy. This ignorance leads to fear. If given the correct information about what will happen in the end, they would joyfully ask the Lord into their lives, that they might be saved and have the assurance of spending eternity with Him in a perfect world, in glorified bodies! Just imagine his promises: He will give us bodies that are always healthy and beautiful, He has prepared a heavenly home for each person that is glorious, there will be no more pain, no sadness, no hunger, no fear. Lions will actually lay down with the lambs. Our hearts and lives will be filled with unimaginable joy, peace and love for our heavenly Father. Just imagine actually holding God's hand, seeing his face, singing his praises! God promises, the Holy Bible promises all of this. Study the Bible. Learn for yourself all of the wonderful blessings awaiting us in Heaven! When you read and understand you will not be in denial anymore. You will want to walk in the Lord's will and anxiously await the Rapture! It can't come soon enough for those who believe in Jesus Christ and know that he keeps His promises!
Sadly, many will refuse to learn, refuse the Lord, and be left behind to face the terrible Tribulation! Time is short, He will return and soon! Please accept God's promises, and the gift of eternal life. Please give up your denial and avoid the wrath God will pour out on the earth and the people who refuse Him. God loves you and is reaching out before it is too late. He doesn't want to leave anyone behind.
